We’re back at the fabulous site we used last year- plenty of room to have activities for everyone! Fighting, Arts and Sciences, Equestrian, Archery, and Youth Activities! Donation Lunch Inn, Feast, and (if their Majesties deign to attend!) Court!

This year’s theme: “The Bestiary: Coexisting with Animals throughout History”!

Combat & Martial Arts

Heavy Combat

There will be three Armored Combat (AC) competitions held:

1. Novice Tournament – open to all fighters that have not been given a kingdom-level AC award, AND have not won an AC tournament. It will be either round-robin or double-elimination, depending on the number of entrants.

2. Traditional Cattle Raids “Bring Your Best Game” tournament. Open to all AC fighters, and there are no weapons restrictions except the standard Calontir single-combat rules. Double-elimination, and we will try to run multiple fields.

3. Three-person Skirmish Team melee tourney – Weapons are limited to 2-handed weapons no longer than 7.5 feet.

Tournaments ran consecutively. If there is additional time and interest, there will be additional melees.

Archery

Inspections held at 8:30am Saturday. Range opens at 9am for The Warm-up; come shoot a few 6 arrow practice rounds!

Please drop off your A&S entry Saturday of the event by 10 AM and pick up by 4 PM.

Winners will be by populace vote.

Adult and Youth A&S Competition

Theme is Beasts! Any beast, real or fantastic, in any medium.

Blank Border A&S Competition

We are also hosting a blank border Bestiary-themed competition!

(Blank borders will be donated to the barony.)

"My Best SCA Experience" Bardic Tournament

Perform a Bardic piece about any topic or event that is important to you in the style of your choice!

Masquerade Competition

Paint, dye, embroider, bedazzle, befeather… decorate a mask however you want for Baroness Lelia’s elevation at the beginning of court!

Bring your own or choose one on site to decorate while supplies last.

Prizes for both youth and adults!

Limited spaces; $15 per seat. Tickets for Feast can be purchased at Gate.

Site is discretely wet. Please be discrete with alcoholic beverages!

New to the SCA?

Found our website and thinking of sticking your toes in for your first event? Please join us for Cattle Raids! Cattle Raids is the Barony of Mag Mor’s yearly camping event that brings everyone from the Kingdom of Calontir in for fighting, archery, classes, socializing, and more! There’s something for everyone, and is a perfect place to see all that the SCA has to offer.

This is a tent camping event, however camping is not a requirement. Many people only choose to attend Saturday. Site will open to those not camping around 8am Saturday morning and will be open all day until after evening Court (or Feast, if you choose to stick around for dinner!)

This is a garb event- we will be in costume! All we ask is an attempt at pre-17th century clothing. If you feel like you don’t have anything appropriate, we have costumes that can be borrowed through our stash of garb called Gold Key. To coordinate something to wear at the event, please contact our Gold Key officer at goldkey@magmor.calontir.org. Gold Key will also be available on site during the event. Ask for it at Gate when you arrive!
