Cattle Raids

August 21st 22nd and 23rd

Site to be open by 5:00pm and to close at 12:00pm (Noon) on Sunday.

Wet site with plenty of room to camp!

 

Located: Cass County Fairgrounds, 8430 144th St. Weeping Water, NE 68463 Driving Directions From the South: I-29 N to NE Hwy 2 towards Nebraska City & follow it to Highway US-75. Go North on US-75 to Nebraska 1 E and turn left (west). Go approx. 12 miles and turn left on 144th St. Site is on the Right.

* Please keep in mind that age of majority is 19 in Nebraska.

Equestrian Activities

There will be no equestrian activities at Cattle Raids this year, due to circumstances beyond our control, sorry for the inconvenience.
PLEASE NOTE : All Horses require current Coggins and relevant Health Papers (for those coming from outside Nebraska ).
Everyone attending the event will be required to sign the Equestrian Waiver.

Children's Activities for Cattle Raids
All activities will take place on Saturday, August 22
Choreographed by Mistress Vasilla Krasnaia

Activities will begin at 11:00 with an hour for lunch at noon to be taken with parents/guardians. 
Games will resume at 1:00 until 4:00. 
Snacks will be provided at 4:00 before dismissal in preparation for court.

Please have your child bring a cup with them to the games area. Water will be available from 11:00 to the end of snack time.

Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied and assisted by a responsible adult. Children under the age of 12 must have a parent sign them in at the MOY area.

Games to be played may include the following (check Gate for the official listing of games and times):

Viking raid (scavenger hunt)
Dragon Tails (similar to crack the whip)
Viking boats (complete with songs, paddling, and impromptu raiding)
Kub
Highland games appropriate to the age group/s participating
Spears and Boars

Celtic Knot Run (3-legged foot races)

Windmills-on-a-stick (craft project)

Viking snacks (snack crackers, cheese sticks, granola bars...please let the MOY attendents know of any food allergies before leaving your child with the play group)

Additionally, there will be scheduled open play time in which game props and pieces will be provided for children to create their own games and entertainment.

After feast, a story time will be provided for children who would like to gather with Vasilla for the telling of Viking tales.

As always, Vasilla welcomes the assistance of parents and guardians and those who are just young at heart to come and join in the fun. If you have a particular interest in volunteering as one of the MOY attendants for part of the day, please contact Vasilla at baronessvasilla@gmail.com.
